2006 Flashback! Opportunity knocking a second time.... quit Rialto Unifed and teach at That Phanom University!

In July of 2006 I had the rare opportunity to teach English at the new Buddhist University next to Wat Phra That Phanom... a temple that is the "Spiritual Center" of Northeastern Thailand.



In the 200 foot tall pagoda that dominates the skyline of this tiny rural town situated on the banks of the Mekong River, is enshrined the collarbone of the Buddha that was brought here just eight years after the Buddha's death.



Recently I spoke with Phra Mahan Wannachai, the Director of the Buddhist University at That Phanom. He told me he would still like me to teach the newly created Master's class in Buddhism at his University.

Begin teaching when you ask? Tomorrow if I listened to Phra Mahan Wannachai!



I still have very fond memories of teaching the monks at this University last year!



So I have to ask myself.... how often does opportunity knock? Are the doors indeed opening to a new teaching opportunity for me?
